Work Experience
At Key Stage 4, all students are encouraged to take part in work experience opportunities that help prepare them for the world of work and future career pathways.
Work experience provides students with valuable insight into different industries and professions, allowing them to develop important employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and professionalism. It also helps students gain confidence, build independence, and understand the expectations of the workplace.
Through their placements, students have the opportunity to explore career interests, make informed decisions about their future education and training, and develop a greater understanding of how their learning in school links to the workplace.
We work closely with employers, families, and students to ensure that placements are meaningful, safe, and beneficial. Students are supported throughout the process, from identifying suitable placements to reflecting on the skills and experiences they have gained.
Work experience is an important part of our careers programme and plays a key role in helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and aspirations needed for future success.
Year 10 Work Experience
Our Year 10 students will be undertaking their work experience placements during the week beginning 13th July 2026.
We ask parents and carers to support their child by ensuring they attend their placement every day, arrive on time, and communicate appropriately with their employer if any issues arise. Encouraging students to reflect on their experiences and the skills they are developing can also help them gain the maximum benefit from the placement.
We would like to thank parents, carers, and employers for their continued support in making this valuable experience possible. We look forward to hearing about the achievements and experiences of our Year 10 students following their placement week.
