London East Academy

Curriculum at London East Academy

At London East Academy, our curriculum is driven by our mission to educate learners and leaders who contribute to society with Islamic values. Our values, rooted in REAP (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, and Piety), guide every aspect of our curriculum design and delivery. We believe in providing a broad and balanced education that empowers our learners with knowledge and skills across a rich curriculum. Our taught curriculum uses the national curriculum as its baseline, to ensure to ensure that all children are taught in the key subject disciplines. Subject-specific content is carefully tracked to ensure that students have covered all areas of Key Stage 3 and Key stage 4. We offer a diverse selection of academic disciplines, including core subjects, humanities, sciences, art, physical education, computing, our unique Islamic sciences program, and Tahfidh Al-Qur’an. This breadth of curriculum enables our learners to explore their interests, discover their talents, and develop a holistic understanding of the world.

Respect: Our curriculum emphasises the importance of respect for oneself, others, and the wider community. We strive to foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment where every individual is valued and their unique perspectives are celebrated. Through our curriculum, we promote understanding, tolerance, and empathy, enabling our learners to become respectful citizens who appreciate and embrace differences.

Excellence: We are committed to nurturing academic excellence in our learners. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire them, encouraging them to reach their full potential across a wide range of subjects. We foster a love for learning, promote critical thinking, and provide opportunities for creativity and innovation. By setting high expectations, we equip our learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen fields beyond school life.

Accountability: We instil a sense of responsibility and accountability in our learners through our curriculum. We emphasise the importance of integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct, both in academic pursuits and personal interactions. Our curriculum encourages self-reflection, self-discipline, and the development of a strong work ethic. We believe that accountable individuals are better prepared to make positive contributions to society.

Piety: Islamic values are at the heart of our curriculum. We integrate Islamic teachings and principles into various aspects of our educational program, fostering spiritual growth and a deep sense of faith in our learners. We aim to develop well-rounded individuals who exemplify piety in their actions, interactions, and decision-making processes. Our curriculum promotes the understanding of Islamic values and their application in daily life.
